It’s a picture-perfect wedding destination and a popular venue for events, conferences and retreats.
The castle is rustic, warm and inviting with areas for hosting, dining, and entertaining to suit a wide range of occasions.
The grounds are beautifully landscaped to the natural contours of the land, which have lent themselves to some spectacular feature plantings, hand crafted waterfalls and tranquil ponds – a peaceful escape from the outside world.
When you book to stay at The Mudcastle or hold an event there, you can be assured that no other bookings will be taken. The owners live in separate quarters on the property so any questions or problems can be quickly attended to while guests’ privacy is maintained.
Your hosts, Glenys and Kevin have been hosting weddings and events for many years and are devoted to making your special day one to remember.
The Mudcastle is located about 40 minutes drive from the Nelson city centre, 35 minutes from Nelson Airport, 30 minutes from Richmond, 45 minutes from the Abel Tasman National Park, and 1 hour and 15 minutes from Nelson Lakes National Park, 2.5 hours from the Picton Ferry Terminal and 1.5 hours from Takaka in the heart of the Golden Bay.
